Coney Island During the Pandemic
Spring 2020. New York City is in lockdown, but we can still take the subway to Coney Island. The eternal ocean and the empty boardwalk, with its motionless rides and wild painted faces.
I drew from life that summer. I was intrigued by the melancholy, whimsical and nostalgic scene of the deserted beach and boardwalk.
